About this Piece: This piece came about because I needed one more piece for a Christmas program I was conducting, but didn't have enough time to secure an already published piece. I needed to have something for the Sunday evening rehearsal that was approaching. So the Saturday before the rehearsal I got up early and spent the whole day composing, editing, printing the score and parts, and stuffing folders with this piece. It was a long day, but was well worth it. This piece has enjoyed quite a bit of success, and has been performed at least once a year at Christmastime by different ensembles. (One ensemble even uses it for their opener every year now.) It's funny how the piece you least expect to be successful becomes quite successful.
